What I Stand for
At the centre of my work is one foundational belief:
People are more able to change when they feel emotionally safe enough to be honest, vulnerable, understood, and accepted without judgment.
But emotional safety does not mean avoiding difficult conversations.
Good therapy should give you room to feel heard while also helping you look honestly at the patterns keeping you stuck. Anxiety, depression, anger, emotional shutdown, relationship conflict, and unhealthy ways of coping often make more sense when we understand what is happening underneath them.
My role is not simply to listen. I will be curious with you. I will ask questions, help you recognize patterns, offer different perspectives, and respectfully challenge you when I believe it may help. When responsibility is part of the work, we can face that without turning accountability into shame.
I believe people change more deeply when they understand themselves—not when they feel judged for who they are.
My Therapeutic Approach
I don't believe therapy should be one-size-fits-all. My approach is integrative, which means I draw from different evidence-informed therapies depending on who you are, what you are experiencing, and what we are trying to accomplish together.
My work is strongly informed by attachment, relationships, emotional regulation, and the patterns we develop to protect ourselves. Sometimes therapy means understanding where a pattern came from. Sometimes it means developing practical skills to respond differently. Often, meaningful change requires both.
I don't believe a client should have to fit a particular therapeutic model. The approach should fit the person.
Whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, trauma, anger, overwhelming emotions, or patterns that keep repeating despite your best efforts to change them, we can work both to understand what is happening beneath the surface and to develop practical ways of moving forward.
Therapy with me is active and collaborative. I will listen carefully, but I won't simply sit back and nod. We will work together to understand what is happening, why it may be happening, and what can actually change.
Who I Help
People come to therapy for many different reasons. Sometimes something has happened that feels impossible to manage alone. Other times, life may look fine from the outside, but internally you know that something isn't working.
I work with adults and couples experiencing:
Some of the concerns I work with are complex and can carry significant shame or stigma. You do not need to hide the difficult parts of your story in therapy. My role is to understand what is happening without reducing you to a diagnosis, behaviour, or mistake.
Together, we can examine what is underneath the problem, identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and work toward healthier and more sustainable ways of responding.
You don't have to fit neatly into a diagnosis or category to belong in therapy. We can start with what is happening in your life right now.
How Can I Help You
Therapy can help you understand what is happening beneath the surface—not simply manage what shows up on the surface. Our work can focus on making sense of patterns, strengthening relationships, developing healthier ways of responding, and creating changes that carry into everyday life.
Understand Yourself More Deeply
Recognize the emotions, experiences, beliefs, and patterns influencing how you think, feel, and respond.
Build Healthier Relationships
Improve communication, strengthen emotional connection, establish healthier boundaries, and understand recurring relationship dynamics.
Manage Difficult Emotions
Develop healthier ways of responding to anxiety, anger, sadness, shame, stress, and emotions that sometimes feel overwhelming.
Break Repeating Patterns
Understand why certain behaviours or relationship cycles keep returning—and develop different ways of responding when they do.
Heal From Painful Experiences
Work through trauma, loss, rejection, relationship injuries, and experiences from the past that continue to affect the present.
Create Meaningful Change
Turn insight into action by building greater self-awareness, accountability, emotional flexibility, and confidence in how you navigate your life.
Navigate Major Life Changes
Find clarity and direction through separation, loss, career changes, family transitions, identity shifts, and periods when life no longer feels familiar.
Strengthen Accountability & Self-Control
Understand the triggers and patterns behind harmful or impulsive behaviour, take meaningful responsibility, and develop safer, more intentional ways of responding.
Therapy isn't about becoming someone else. It's about understanding yourself well enough to make different choices where different choices are possible.
The patterns we develop often make sense when we understand where they came from. They may once have helped us cope, protect ourselves, maintain relationships, or get through difficult experiences. But what once protected us can eventually begin to limit us, hurt our relationships, or keep us repeating the same cycles.
Therapy creates an opportunity to slow those patterns down, understand what is happening underneath them, and develop new ways of responding. That might mean communicating differently, regulating emotions more effectively, setting healthier boundaries, taking responsibility for behaviour, becoming more comfortable with vulnerability, or learning to respond to yourself with greater compassion.
Change doesn't require rejecting who you have been. It begins with understanding yourself, taking ownership of what is yours, and discovering what you want to do differently moving forward.
